10 Cupcakes Demo is now available for download from our website. A lot of it is missing art or just using placeholder assets but we have a large enough vertical slice to demonstrate what we are working on. We wanted to get it in real users hands so we can get some feedback. The demo is available for free and doesn’t require any registration, filling out forms or payments. Download it and try it. If you have any suggestions or feedback please contact us on facebook to tell us what you think.
We did our first live presentation and Demos at SYSF in Sofia, Bulgaria on May 27th.
It was 10 Cupcakes V0.18, which was still basically a Pre-Alpha but it demonstrated:
VR locomotion system
VR weapons and destructibles
VR random woman generator
The presentation was a lot of fun. And we got some very good feedback from the volunteer testers. The other games presented at the event included “A Place In The Sun”, and “Sweet Maze Run”.
I just found this video on youtube about hipster axe. The video was really funny. (If you understand Russian that is).
I have tried a lot of things to get 3d models to look like hand drawn art and everything came up short. I was able to get OK results in Daz Studio with a product called Visual Style Shaders, but I couldn’t get it to look hand drawn. I just picked up JiffyCrew’s shaders for UE4 and after a few hours of playing with them this seems to be the best results I have gotten so far. This would probably work out better with a character with more stylized proportions.
Makes nice stills that I can use as 2d art. And of course also can be used in a full 3d game.
Here were the settings I used. I tried a few different falloff maps. Probably best to make a custom one for this.
Thank you everyone for your support, and feedback. I am very happy that the users on steam are giving us a shot even after Facebook rejected the game for being too racy. I can’t wait to make more vr girls. This is a lot of fun when you put the headset on.
